Mosquito Collection (DNA Extracts) (NEON-MOSC-DNA)

SAMPLES ARE CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE. Please contact the NEON Biorepository for information about when these samples will become available. Genetic extracts from the Canadian Centre for DNA Barcoding for select mosquitoes captured during CO2 trapping (NEON sample class: mos_barcoding_in.geneticSampleID). Mosquito abundance and diversity are sampled at regular intervals by NEON field technicians at core and relocatable terrestrial sites using CO2 traps. Genetic extracts in 96-well plates from the Canadian Centre for DNA Barcoding are archived in the NEON Biorepository at -80 degrees Celsius. See TOS Protocol and Procedure: Mosquito Sampling and TOS Science Design for Mosquito Abundance, Diversity and Phenology. NEON datasets (https://data.neonscience.org/home) associated with this sample class include Mosquitoes Sampled from CO2 Traps and Mosquito Sequences DNA Barcode. Information about the Canadian Centre for DNA Barcoding can be found at https://ccdb.ca/.
