Plant: perennial herb; 4-9 dm tall Leaves: linear-lanceolate to linear, the lower ones 5-10 cm long, 3-6 mm broad, the upper ones 6-9 cm long, 1-3 mm broad INFLORESCENCE: a terminal, compound cyme Flowers: calyx lobes linear, 3-7 m long; corolla tube 16-20 mm long, broadest near the apex, markedly constricted at the orifice, the lobes 10-15 mm long Fruit: terete, 4-15 cm long; SEEDS cylindrical, corky, 8-11 mm long, 2-3 mm broad Misc: Rare in canyons in oak woodlands; 1200-1350 m (3900-4500 ft); Mar-May REFERENCES: McLaughlin, Steven, P. 1994.
